Epsom College’s strong A2 and AS results

College students were celebrating a very impressive set of A2 results once again this morning, with half of the grades awarded at A*-A and 80% in the A*-B range.

Amongst the top performers this year were Chelsea Chan with three A*s and an A and Brian Oosthuizen with two A*s and a D1 – the top grade in Pre-U Mandarin. Vincent Chow, Bart Kitson, Helen Phizackerley and Li Shyen Tan also achieved three A*s.

Tom Mumby and Hannah Taylor have had their places confirmed at Cambridge and Oxford respectively, each achieving two A*s and an A, and Philip Fiuza has secured his place at Oxford with A*AA.

The most popular university destination this year was Warwick, followed by Bristol, Edinburgh, Manchester, Nottingham, Southampton and Leeds. Between them, these institutions accounted for over 40 places.

Overall, the leavers are heading to over 35 institutions in the UK, including Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, Durham, LSE, UCL and KCL.

Elsewhere, Stephanie Winato has gained a place at the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design, while Alzubair Al-Zaabi is heading to New York University.

Meanwhile, the future is looking bright as this year’s AS results were a record for Epsom College. Impressively, over half the entries received an A grade and 75% were in the A-B range.
