Loretto School’s A-level results 2015

Loretto School is celebrating another impressive set of A-level results with 38% of the Upper Sixth gaining straight A* – A grades, 45.5% of all entries were B grade or above and 14% of the A levels were passed at A*, the second highest in the school’s history.

Chris Sinclair achieved a remarkable four A* grades and a further three pupils, Esther Borsi (Head Girl), Poppy Povey and George Sutherland, 3 A*s and an A.

Dr Graham Hawley, Loretto School Headmaster, said, “I am delighted to see the results that have been achieved by this year’s cohort of Lorettonians.  It is a fitting tribute to the hard work of the pupils and staff alike that their efforts have paid off so successfully.  These results are even more remarkable when one considers that pupils at Loretto also embrace the rich extra-curricular opportunities that are available to them.  The environment enables them to grow both academically and personally and they leave us equipped for the challenges ahead of them.

We are very proud of the achievements of all our pupils. Loretto School boasts a remarkable university entry success rate with over 90% of pupils entering their choice of university.”

Two Loretto pupils secured unconditional offers for October 2015. Johanna Dieffenbacher to read Spanish with Portuguese at St Hugh’s College, Oxford and Miranda Smith to read Medicine at Newnham College, Cambridge.

Loretto pupils have won places at a wide range of universities and many will be going on to the more selective universities including Oxford, Cambridge, Edinburgh, St. Andrews, Durham and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland  to read such subjects as medicine, law, international relations, engineering, physics and musical theatre.
