Bellerbys College Brighton

Bellerbys College is located just to the north of the centre of Brighton, close to the central train station and the main London Road which runs through the heart of the town. Shops are close-by, while the beach is never too far away.

Bellerbys College Brighton represents itself as a more chic version of the more traditional boarding schools, offering pathways to ready students for Higher Education.

Courses and choices
Students are welcomed from the aged of 13 where they can enrol on the GCSE Pathway Discovery Programme to trial GCSE module before choosing their subjects in Year 10. The College also offers a 1 year GCSE course for those over 15 years. An international mix of students is assured on the GCSE programmes and local UK-based day pupils were welcome to join the programmes for the first time in 2014.

Six different GCSE pathways are available alongside enrichment programmes to help students ‘learn around the subject’. ‘Young Oxbridge’ for example is suitable for those with big ambitions. Students talk part in discussions, attend talks by Russell Group Universities and hone their critical thinking skills.

A Level Programmes at Bellerbys are well-known in the UK for their quality and diversity. Brighton tends to have more subjects available compared with other Bellerbys Colleges in the UK. Knowledge gained in A level subjects is further enhanced by an enrichment programme, the main focus of which is an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). This Qualification is looked upon favourably by leading Russell Group universities.

Bellerbys also offers Foundation programmes of one year duration, with a November start in Brighton Brighton is the specialist centre for the Management & Computer Systems Foundation programme. The courses provide access to the widest choice of excellent universities and are based on the A level syllabus. Study skills, EAP and English language tuition also feature heavily in the Foundation year.

Accommodation
Students can choose either the supportive atmosphere of a host family (known as Homestay) or the flexibility of student residences.

The on-campus residences has en-suite facilities, common rooms on each floor and a restaurant with hotel-quality catering.

Activities

For sports enthusiasts, Bellerbys has solid links with sports organisations in the Brighton area. Regular badminton, squash, football, basketball, gym and yoga sessions take place and students also have the opportunity to do dance and attend fitness centres.

Competitions are frequently held, and have included Origami, Essay Writing and Film Making.
