Bishop’s Stortford College
Bishop’s Stortford College is one of the country’s top co-educational academic schools. The College is located within a peaceful, safe and eminently spacious (130 acres) setting, close to the countryside yet within walking distance of the centre of a market town. Within close proximity to Cambridge and London, there is easy access by air, road or rail.
Three schools in one
The Prep School and Pre-Prep offer day schooling for pupils from the age of four, and day and boarding for those between 7 and 13 years. While sharing the same campus and principles, the schools have their own specific learning environments. They offer a broad range of facilities, teaching resources and opportunities than is typical of most schools for these age groups. Pupils are ensured a smooth transition and thorough preparation for entry into the Senior School.
Together with an emphasis on co-operation, mutual respect, responsibility and independence, each boarding house has a strong sense of community. The diversity of backgrounds and nationalities across all age groups serves to broaden horizons and enrich the lives and development of those within the College community.
Academic – an appetite for learning
Small classes and a focus on nurturing the individual ensures that all pupils receive the time and attention to develop the desire to learn.
Joy in breadth and balance
There are plentiful opportunities at the College to choose between a diverse range of sports and cultural pursuits, as the School’s leaders and specialist teachers seek to provide an all-round education. With innovative and well-resourced sport, art, drama and music centres, the College continues to build a successful record and reputation in these disciplines.
