Founded in 1708, Lucton School is set on a stunning 45 acre site among beautiful Herefordshire countryside. The location is safe and certainly healthy with the freshest of air. The wonderful rural location, coupled with small class sizes, committed teachers and a friendly atmosphere, all work together to ensure a perfect all-round educational experience. A mix of day pupils, weekly boarders and full boarders gives the School a distinct atmosphere.
Admission can take place at any time of year by interview and assessment.
Strong academic record
With a broad range of GCSE and A-level subjects on offer, Lucton has an enviable academic record, with tradition ensuring all pupils get the best possible examination results. A-level results tend to average around 80% for A-C grades. This is exceptional, considering that Lucton accepts mixed ability students.
Overseas students stand to benefit from the School’s ‘Access to A-level’ course, which provides them with a thorough grounding in a range of subjects as well as accelerating the learning of English. Ultimately, students feel prepared for entry to their first-choice universities.
Facilities include science laboratories, junior and senior libraries, ICT rooms, a design and technology workshop, sports hall, tennis courts, indoor swimming pool, games fields and Equestrian Centre.
Senior students benefit from own sixth-form centre, including library, IT suite, comfortable common room and quiet study area.
Boarders enjoy a range of weekend activities – sporting, cultural, social and just good fun. A large number of team and individual sports are offered.
