Malvern St James Girls’ School
First-class facilities, including an award-winning Maths and Science Centre, Sports Centre and a Drama Centre, go a long way to the girls’ development. Moreover, a brand-new Sixth Form Centre has been built to fully satisfy the sixth formers’ needs.
The highly-acclaimed MSJ Aspiration Programme prepares pupils for the most competitive UK and international universities and career pathways, and it is aspiration and achievement which are central to the school’s ethos.
• Preparatory Department: informal assessment.
• Senior School: cognitive ability tests (CAT 4) and an English comprehension examination or the Common Entrance examination.
• Sixth Form: two subject entrance papers and general essay.
With high quality teaching assured, MSJ offers an education tailored to each individual’s strengths. A broad curriculum supports pupils who require special provision, including very able pupils and international students who need English as an additional language (EAL) support.
Specially created timetables enable those who have specific areas of expertise, be it academic, sporting or musical, to fully focus on their specialism and hone their talents. Additional time to practise and train, as well as individual coaching and mentoring sessions, are also available.
For sixth formers, the College’s Education Enrichment Programme serves to complement the core curriculum, offering the potential to gain additional qualifications (for instance, the Extended Project Qualification), strengthening academic attainment and giving pupils an extra boost when it comes to writing personal statements and applying to universities.
