Surrounded by beautiful English countryside near Reading in the county of Berkshire, Padworth College is an international co-educational boarding and day school for students aged 13–19. It is just a 40 minutes’ drive from Heathrow Airport. This small and friendly school provides a supportive environment where the tutorial style of teaching encourages and nurtures individual talent. Padworth is proud of its academic record (46% A*/A grades at A-level).
Boarding and pastoral care
The strong sense of community distinguishes Padworth from competition in the local area. A warm residential community prepares pupils for university life, and is part of the School’s broader aim to prepare its students for both the academic and social challenges of higher education and their future lives.
The students’ main point of contact regarding their studies are the Academic Tutors and the Deputy Principal, while Housemasters and Housemistresses guide and motivate students every step of the way. An intriguing mix of day and residential trips, extracurricular clubs, sports and social activities is arranged for boarders.
Padworth is non-academically selective yet achieves outstanding results and students progress to the best universities. Three key elements explain why students are able to realise their academic potential: individual attention, small classes and experienced specialist teachers. The School offers one- and two-year GCSE courses, a wide range of A-level subjects, a Business Foundation course as well as pre-A-level courses which combine English Language with academic study to give international students a solid foundation for A-level study.
Visitors are welcome throughout the year – contact Hazel Ormrod, Registrar on +44 (0)119 983 2644 to arrange an appointment to meet the Head and tour the campus.
The College is a special place for education, with all the values we look for when choosing a school for our children.
