Polam Hall School
Dating back to 1854, Polam Hall is a school with a distinguished history. Nestling in 19 acres of its own grounds, Polam Hall boasts stunning views, a tranquil setting and easy access to local amenities. In a warm and caring family atmosphere, pupils are able to thrive and reach their full potential.
Conveniently located within a 15 minutes’ drive from Durham Tees Valley Airport, the School also has quick access to both the A1(M) highway and the main north/south railway line. London, Durham, York and the Lake District can all be easily reached from Darlington.
Polam Hall School recently became a free school, meaning it will be funded by the state. Day pupils will be admitted without fees, and up to 60 boarders will still be accepted. They will not have to pay tuition fees.
Academic and pastoral
Specialist staff, small class sizes and top-class facilities allow pupils to score impressive examination results in all subjects. Polam Hall’s current Independent Schools Inspectorate Report comments that: ‘Pupils flourish in a supportive and responsive community. The quality of the pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is excellent.’ Most students progress to a range of courses at some of the most prestigious universities in the country.
