The School is only a short walk from the Metropolitan Line at Rickmansworth
Modern facilities and innovative teaching blend well with traditional architecture and a long proud history to create an exceptional environment in which to learn and grow. The School is not shy to stress its core values: perseverance, compassion, responsibility and participation.
Boarding and facilities
Boarding pupils are looked after and supported in well-appointed and spacious houses. Study-bedrooms are comfortably furnished. There are exceptional facilities, including a resource centre and a medical centre.
The curriculum and extracurricular activities
RMS believes that excelling outside the classroom can benefit performance within it, and evidence of this lies in the School’s excellent results. RMS also fosters and encourages community spirit, tolerance and compassion through charity fundraising and volunteer work.
A broad curriculum at GCSE and in the Sixth Form, with a range of 32 subjects enables all pupils to succeed. Indeed, the A-level pass rate in 2013 was 100%, with 83% at grade A*, A or B.
RMS has been judged as outstanding in both its boarding provision and in all aspects of education. Inspectors noted, ‘High attainment and exceptional progress are made within an extremely supportive environment, allowing all girls to develop into confident, compassionate and well-educated young women.’
“RMS offers a nurturing, inclusive and supportive environment where each child is esteemed as an individual, capable of success.”
