Warminster School is comprised of Warminster Prep School for pupils aged 3–11 and the Senior School for students aged 11–18. It was founded in 1707 and is considered one of the top independent day and boarding schools for boys and girls age 13–18.
Warminster views each child as a complete individual and strongly believes in each child’s holistic development. Individuality is valued and nurtured within a community built on a caring and supportive atmosphere. Children are encouraged to reach their full potential, not just in the classroom, but also through sport and co-curricular activities.
Learning and recreation
The school’s students have achieved excellent academic results with a recent 98% A-level pass rate and we have also placed 25th out of the over 200 schools which offer the International Baccalaureate. Almost all of its students attain places at top universities, Oxford and Cambridge.
Outside of the classroom, our students enjoy a wide array of opportunities for personal growth which include drama, music and a variety of sports. This rich offering combined with a wide range of academic subjects is one of Warminster’s hallmarks.
Recent substantial investments have provided our students with state-of-the-art facilities which include a science centre, renovated six-form facilities, a new design and technology centre (DT), a new library and IT suite, a new multipurpose hall and a new dining centre.
Since students’ comfort is one of the school’s top priorities, a supportive and caring atmosphere is nurtured by experienced residential staff in all six boarding houses.
At Warminster, academics are valued, but within the context of the whole person. Therefore, the admissions procedure also takes into account a variety of abilities and talents. In addition to academic scholarships, there are also those for sport, art, drama, and DT. There is a 10% discount for HM Forces families and a 5% Sibling Discount. Means-tested bursaries are also available.
