Wellington School is a leading co-educational day and boarding school located in the stunningly beautiful countryside of southwest England just 50 miles from Bristol International Airport and 2½ hours’ from Heathrow. Curriculum and facilities
Students at Wellington can receive a balanced education through a broad variety of GCSE, IGCSE and A-level subjects. Up to 20 international students can also avail themselves of a one-year GCSE course. The newly completed £2m Princess Royal Sports Complex is the hallmark of Wellington’s sport programme. Students have at their disposal a floodlit Astroturf pitch, extensive playing fields, a dedicated fencing salle and an indoor swimming pool. Wellington also values outdoor activities and these include Army, Navy and RAF Combined Cadet Force. Extracurricular facilities are rounded out by music and drama which have their own recently completed music school, theatre and drama studio.
A caring and supportive environment is provided to students by experienced house staff in our four boarding houses, which also includes a mixed boarding house for the Lower School. Sixth form boarding houses boast large study-bedrooms and their own common rooms. The boarding community has also taken on an international character due to the fact that 12% of these students come from overseas. Depending on age, admission is based on an interview or entrance examination.
Wellington School believes that all students should be guided and encouraged in achieving his or her own potential to the fullest extent. The School values traditional hard work, complemented by unpretentious manners and good behaviour. With this aim in mind, the staff is dedicated to the happiness, personal welfare and individual needs of each and every pupil.
