Wycombe Abbey School
Wycombe Abbey is one of the UK’s leading boarding schools and the top girls’ boarding school based on academic results. The founding Headmistress, Dame Frances Dove, dedication to the pursuit of excellence and the development of each pupil’s character and individual talents forms the foundation of Wycombe Abbey’s long, distinguished history. Nestled among more than 160 beautiful acres, Wycombe Abbey offers its pupils a relaxing country life, but is located not far from the town of High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire with its shops, cinemas and other points of interest.
Boarding and other facilities
At Wycombe Abbey full boarding is a top priority. A Junior Boarding House is available to girls entering the School at 11+. Nine mixed-age Senior Houses are home to girls aged 12-17, while Clarence House offers Upper Sixth girls a study-bedroom complex. Every pupil is valued and cherished and their well-being the School’s primary concern.
The contemporary, state-of-the-art facilities include a Performing Arts Centre with a theatre and a recital hall, a Sports Centre boasting a 25-metre indoor heated swimming pool, and studios for dance and fitness.
Registration two years prior to entry is required for Pupils who wish to join the School at 11+ and 13+. Entry is based on successful performance in the Common Entrance examinations (11+/13+) or the Wycombe Abbey Scholarship examinations (13+ only). A limited number of places are available for entry at 16+ (Sixth Form), and are awarded based on performance in the Sixth Form Entrance examinations.
