Pre-masters courses are for international students who want to study a master’s degree at a UK university, but do not have the academic or English level required for direct entry. They take between one and four terms to complete (one year = 3 terms), depending on applicants’ academic levels and English skills. Usually, graduates are guaranteed entry to a master’s degree course on successful completion of your pre-masters. By taking a pre-masters programme, graduates of associate degrees and higher diplomas can directly enter to study for a master’s degree, skipping the undergraduate qualification.
Length of course depends on applicants’ academic level and English skills.
Entry dates are usually in September, January or June. To ensure students can smoothly move on to the master’s programme, it is wise to calculate the length of the programme and apply for admission dates accordingly.
There will be limitations to universities selections as Pre-masters programmes are only recognised by the associated universities.
