Oxford International College (OIC) teaches A-level and GCSE. Students are taught by Oxford’s finest tutors who are mostly University of Oxford alumni or hold doctorate degrees from Oxford. Tutors are specialized in their fields, providing students with all the help they need.

Oxford International College Application Deadline

Applications for boarding places should be submitted to the college by September in the year prior to the start of the academic year the student wishes to enter. For example, applications for entry in either September 2024 or January 2025 should be submitted before September 2023.

In 2022, Oxford International College ranked 4th among all UK boarding schools in our A Levels League Table. The school ranked 7th among all UK boarding schools in our GCSE League Table in the same year. These rankings place OIC solidly among the top ten boarding schools in the UK.

In 2023, Oxford International College achieved 90.3% A*/A, a testament to the school’s consistent track record.

Oxford International College has managed to achieve 92.47% A*-As in the 2022 A Level examinations, placing the school among the top five in the country. This is the first set of results from standardized tests since 2019. 

According to the OIC website, many students progressed to incredible university destinations, and 50% of University of Oxford applications succeeded. Many students secured high-profile internships at companies such as J.P. Morgan and obtained scholarships with the world’s top universities (including the prestigious Jardine Scholarship at the University of Oxford).

What do the tuition fees include?

Tuition fees include tuition for up to 4 A-level subjects along with a Core Super-curricular program and IELTS preparation which is compulsory for students with below 7.0 in any of the components unless they are holding another suitable qualification which includes an oral component (ie IGCSE, O-Level).

What is included in the boarding fees?

Every student’s necessity, a Wifi connection! Not only do the fees provide a welcoming place for the students to stay but provide three meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) during term-time in the college dining room as well as accommodation during term-time in single en-suite study bedroom, with the use of shared kitchen facilities. To provide maximum comfort, fees also include a bedding pack – one per year as well as membership to the Oxford University Sports Centre and Gym to encourage students to stay healthy and fit.

Oxford International College Entry Requirements

Prospective students will need to have IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. Prospective students are required to sit admissions tests in their chosen subjects, as well as an online aptitude test. We also take into consideration previous school reports and any other qualifications achieved to date.

Oxford International College Accommodation

OIC has a strong welfare system! OIC’s pastoral team guides and supervises students and makes sure students settle in comfortably such as providing information, advice, and guidance! Making sure wise decisions are made and bringing out the best in them. Moreover, they support them throughout their school journey. 

Therefore, students won’t go through a daunting experience being on their own for the first time. Furthermore, OIC’s house parents and wardens live alongside boarding students, catering to their needs. OIC tries to create a home away from home experience, where students can have a sense of belonging to the OIC boarding community – acts to build a homely and friendly atmosphere. Additionally, OIC’s full-time student services manager is always on duty! Students are registered with a GP surgery for minor illnesses and free checkups, how good is that! 

Boarding options

OIC offers to board at two Oxford sites – Wavy Park and Slade Park.

Wavy Park provides security-gated, purpose-built student accommodation of the highest quality, close to the center of Oxford. At Wavy Park, the bedrooms are commodious, contemporary, and full of natural light. Each bedroom has a small double bed, desk and wall storage for textbooks, as well as a wardrobe and an en-suite with a sink, toilet and shower. A large modern laundry room is available to all residents, washers and dryers are networked so students can monitor their washing remotely from their rooms, and receive alerts when it has finished which is very convenient. 

Slade Park is a purpose-built student accommodation of the highest quality located in Headington, a short bus ride from the city center of Oxford. 

Bedrooms have a small double bed, desk and wall storage for textbooks, as well as a wardrobe and an en-suite with a sink, toilet, and shower. A modern laundry room is available to all OIC residents free of charge! Students boarding at Slade park even receive free entertainment package (Netflix). Bookable conferences and common room facilities are available free of charge which students may utilize for private study groups or social gatherings.

Homestay Accommodation

Being far from home can cause homesickness which OIC tries to prevent by providing students with a safe and comfortable home away from home. Students and their hosts are matched carefully and the college maintains a close relationship with all the homestay families throughout the year! Student Services Manager makes frequent visits and telephone calls to the hosts to ensure that a good rapport is established and that any issues are dealt with quickly.

Sport and Physical Fitness

Not only does OIC provide academic growth but physically as well! Being a member of OIC’s sports centre once students reach aged 16, members are free to use the 25m swimming pool, gym, grass football pitch, tennis and squash courts, bouldering wall, athletic track and many more! Basketball, football and badminton clubs are also offered at OIC.

Enrichment and Extra-Curricular Activities

Exam anxiety can being under pressure can really affect students academically. Therefore, OIC’s enrichment curriculum enables the student to learn personal skills and teaches them to be confident and perform their best, coping under pressure and tackling exam anxiety.

Clubs and Societies

Clubs and societies are a good way for students with the same interest to meet and grow together in those interests. OIC encourages students to create clubs within the college to share their hobby/interest with other students! Regular clubs and societies include for example: debating society, musical appreciation, documentary society, a cookery club and a charity club.
