St Edwards Oxford Reviews
“One of the best all round co-educational boarding schools in the UK. Brilliant location in Oxford – not on a campus away from reality, does the IB as well as A Levels in a way that help kids learn skills/ways of thinking that will actually be useful.”
“St. Edwards (teddies) is a great school academically, catering well for all abilities. There is everything you would want from a school including streaming, extra lessons for those who need it and constructive feedback. The option to choose between Alevels and IB has also given pupils more choice, allowing those who want to maintain breadth an opportunity to do so. Another one if its strengths is the ‘value added’ side, with oxbridge preparation being good and many societies and clubs aimed at increasing knowledge beyond the syllabus. Class sizes are 15-20 up until 6th form, when they decrease to a size depending on which subject etc. The atmosphere is probably more relaxed than some of the other ‘hot house’ schools, or when I was there it was, I think it may have changed. The workload was reasonable, with several preps a night, that can usually be completed in the allotted time for prep in the evening. If teddies pupils were to leave with any skills in particular, I would say it would be a breadth to their education which would be almost impossible to achieve elsewhere.“
“The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that students with various conditions receive the assistance they require. The school’s dedication to creating an inclusive community reflects in the positive experiences of both students and parents.”

The school’s robust pastoral care network is designed to support students throughout their student years. Spearheading this effort is Rachel Bellamy, the Deputy Head Pastoral, who oversees the highly-regarded pastoral care system.

Additionally, students have access to a range of support services, such as the School Counsellor, the Chaplain, and Sixth Formers trained as Peer Listeners.
